Harold P Freeman Service Award
In 2009, Asian Breast Health Outreach Project was recognized for the outstanding services provided to the underserved minority populations with the American Cancer Society, High Plains Division, Harold P. Freeman Service Award. One of only 4 nationally selected and only one in Texas, the recognition encourages ABHOP, the staff, and our volunteers, to continue to break the cultural and language barriers and spread the importance of breast care to all Asian populations so that fewer women die from breast cancer. At the award ceremony, the Mayor of Richardson Gary Slagel also presented ABHOP with a City Proclamation.
Health Care Hero
Asian Breast Health Outreach Project has been chosen as a 2010 Health Care Hero by the Dallas Business Journal. ABHOP was selected among more than 110 nominations. The designation recognizes the contributions made towards improving health and health care services in North Texas.
